Sony and Netflix have joined forces to launch the Netflix Calibrated Mode. This special image mode needs to get the most out of Netflix content on Sony’s premium LCD and OLED TVs.
Sony announced two new premium TV series yesterday; the ZF9 lcd led TV series with full array backlight and the AF9 oled TV series with, among other things, the X1 Ultimate processor. Both TV series are dominated by the best possible image quality, also via streaming service Netflix. To make that possible, the engineers from Sony and Netflix have jointly developed the Netflix Calibrated Mode.
While recently watching Lost in Space, I was struck by the vivid landscapes: lush forests, shadowed snowfields, and other visual elements that pulled me more deeply into Robinsons’ adventures, “said Scott Mirer, vice president, Device Partner Ecosystem at Netflix. “We can not wait for our members around the world to watch on Sony’s new BRAVIA MASTER Series.”
] The special image mode is only available when Netflix is started and, according to both companies, gets the maximum from 4K, HDR and Dolby Atmos content. However, the image mode works with both SDR and HDR content. In the first instance, the picture mode is only available on the premium TVs from Sony. We find these in the AF9 and ZF9 series.
