Before Nintendo can announce anything about it, it now appears that not all Nintendo Switch games support cloud saves. Among other things, the upcoming titles Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! do not let your save game save in the cloud.
Nintendo Switch and cloud saves
Because last week there was a severe earthquake in Japan, in which sixteen people died, Nintendo decided to postpone its Nintendo Direct presentation. that was planned. What the big N wanted to make known, is unknown for the time being. More information might come out about the online service that will be launched somewhere this month. When the new Direct is put online is not yet clear; however, more information has appeared on the Nintendo website.
Some Nintendo Switch games will not support cloud saves a function that has to be introduced with the Switch Online service. There is even a short list of games that only work with offline stored saves.
- Splatoon 2
- Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!
- Dark Souls Remastered
- Dead Cells
- FIFA 19
- NBA 2K19
Why Nintendo does this is officially not yet known, but it may have something to do with the occurrence of cheating. You could do all kinds of things with different save files, both online and offline, and of course Nintendo does not want that. The wait is now on the new Nintendo Direct.
